summery

But  still we crawled.Sometimes I would pick out a tree a little way ahead to measure our progress towards Kurtz

You looked on amazed.Iordered the chain , which we had bbegun to heave in , to be paid out again. A cry, a very loud cry, as of infinite desolation, soared slowly in the opaque air, filled our ears it culminated in a hurried outbreak of almost intolerably excessive shrieking. ON the steamboat with the Winchesters at ready in their hands, the only thing they could see was the boat they were on.Everybody on the boat was hungry, they had given them every week three pieces of brass wire and the theory was they were to buy their provisions with that currency in the river-side villages. So, unless they swallowed the wire itself, or made loops of it to snare the fishes with, I do not see what good their extravagant salary could be to them.I saw in their possession was a few lumps of some stuff like half-cooked dough. Marlow did not understood why the people on the boat that were so hungry did not attack them since they were 30 against 5.

The manager wanted Marlow to move on , but he did not move. The approach to this Kurtz grubbing for ivory in the wretched bush was beset by as many dangers as though he had been an enchanted princess sleeping in a fabulous castle. What we afterwards alluded to as an attack was really an attempt at repulse. The action was very far from being aggressive, it was not even defensive., it was undertaken under the stress of desperation, and in its essence was purely protective. This was near to Kurtz´s station. Everything was completely quiet., and then suddenly, as thoug a veil had been removed from my eyes, I made out , deep  in the tangled gloom, naked breasts, arms, legs, the bush was swarming with human limbs in momovement, glistening , of bronze color.A fusillade burst out under my feet. The pilgrins had opened with their Winchesters, and were simply squirting lead into that bush. The fool nigger had dropped everything , to throw the shutter open and let off that Martiny Henry.Iyeyelled at him to come back, there was no time to lose.It looked as thougt after wrenching that thing from somebody ashore he had lost his balance in the effort. The man had rolled on his back. After a while, the shower of arrows stopped. He died without uttering a sound.I thougt Kurtz was also dead.Marlow thought that he made the whole trip just to talk with Kurtz.Seems like the best of Kurtz was the way of his expression.I was wrong, Kurtz was alive. There were much ivory in the house. We filled the steamboat with ivory. Marlow wanted to know who Kurtz,s boss was.Kurtz spoke to Marlow in English because he was part English and his father was part of French.Kuretz worte 17 pages, before his nerves went wrong.Part of the writing said: “ Exterminate all the brutes “.But he did not remember that part of the writing , when he in a sense came to himself, he repeteadly entreated me to take good care of  the “pamphlet”. Marlow had to take care of his memories. Kurtz will not be forgotten. He had the power to scare rudimentary souls..I can not forget him ,though I am not prepared to affirm the fellow was exactly worth the life we lost in getting to him.Upon this they  forgot KURTZ, and began to howl at me with indignats  protest.

The manager said me there was the Station.I saw a white man under a hat like a cart, the man on the shore began to shout urging us to land . He was no English. He said that everything was fineI asked him  : do you talk with Kurtz? , he said you do not talk to him you listen to Kurtz. The man was 25 years old.

I give him the Towson¨s book .He thougt he had lost the book. I asked him if he wrote on the book in Russian, he said yes. I asked him why they did attack us, he said they do not want him to go. I tell you, he cried  this man has enlarged my mind.

opinion piece

Why conveticional medicine treatments are more effective?

From the very start of cancer studies, patients treated with conventional treatments consistently reported a more satisfactory existence than the patients receiving unorthodox care ,said doctor Barrie Cassileth, professor at the University of Pennsylvania Medical School

Invasive treatment  such surgery or drugs that are needed and so effective, especially for this kind of emergency. Western healthcare is often symptom based and it is proved by scientific record that most of lung cancer are not detected until the illness shows its symptoms.
An other thing we must have in mind is costs, traditional treatments are cheaper since health insurance or government programs allow to receive for free. Alternative medicine is very expensive, especially in North America and Europe.

Traditional medicine may succeed better than alternative in cancer treatments, but traditional one, despite the notorious side effects of chemotherapy and radiation, afford patients a significantly better quality of life during their remaining time than does the alternative approach.

You may hear about alternative lung cancer treatments if you have been diagnosed with lung cancer : yoga, meditation, acupuncture, massage, all have been talked about as being able to help with lung cancer. While many of these have not been extensively studied, some could be considered solid, but none has been proved.

One of the most  recent trends of healthcare today is the complementary use of both. The blend of these two disciplines should make healthcare much more effective in the coming years, meanwhile, traditional medicine should be used first because evidence based medicine is the application of scientific process to distinguish outcomes due to chance from outcomes which are reproducible and, therefore, presumably more reliable.

lung cancer

2)  Lung cancer is caused by several reasons. The first is the daily cigarette consumption and air pollution. The smoke contains toxic chemicals that are released in the smoke that smokers produce. “The chemicals accumulate in the lungs and eventually cause cell damage”. And also de passive smokers can had a long cancer because the smoke of the smokers is in the air and a passive smoker can inhale and be contaminate. Another Long cancer reason is Endogenous factors, Industrial risks, urban pollution and atmospheric, Scarring: bronchial pathology prior and virus.

4.- The therapies that can be used in lung cancer are generally the  Biological therapy; this therapy can control or stop the growth of cancer cells. This type of Biological therapy can treat the two types of lung cancer (SCLC and NSCLC). The doctors of this treatment use many types of drugs, including: erlotinib (Tarceva), gefitinib (Iressa) and crizotinib (Xalcori). The erlotinib, knowed by his brand name Tarceva, works by blocking particular proteins called epidermal growth factor receptors (EGFR) that works in the cancer cells. The gefitinib has the brand name       Iressa, it also works blocking the epidermal growth factor receptors, the gefitinib is the number 1 treatment recommended to the NSCLC. The crizotinib with the brand name Xalcori, only works helping the advanced NSCLC in people that the cancer cells have an overactive version of a protein called anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK).

5) The possibilities of recover of the long cancer depends of your grade of your tumour if is really advanced is very difficult to cure, bad if the cancer is “new” you have a big chance of survive. The traditional medicine has a lot of treatment to do de recuperation more possible like pharmaceutical and chemotherapy.

6) There are no remedies only treatments and surgeries if the cancer is in face 1 (joust beginning) you can make a surgeries but if is in a hire level you have to do like a chemotherapy pre other treatments. That are like the remedies to cure Long Cancer.

7.-What are the cost involved? ( 5 lines minimum)

The cost have been difficult to measure. The primary obstacle to quantification is the intermittent and long term nature of treatment for this disease. A complete record of expenses cannot usually be obtained from one source, however, a review of all the national health surveys, as well as the Medicare, which is maintained by the Health Care Financing Administration in a format suitable for calculation of cumulative medical expenses . The lifetime cost of treating lung cancer is $ 12.510.

8.-Do health programs in Chile cover this treatment expenses? How about health programs of USA, New Zealand, Australia or any European country? ( you can refer to only one) ( 10 lines minimum)

In Chile,  we have the AUGE plan which is a national law N°19.966 for all Chilean to have their health program guaranteed by the Government.

Doctor Sergio Kleinman says that this cancer is not considered in AUGE plan yet, but lung cancer surgery  it is covered by the public and private system. The problem are the treatments for lung cancer patients.

.

In the USA cancer health disparities are not only an economic and medical concern but also a moral and ethical dilemma for the USA-

Many problems such financial and geographic barriers to treatment; ineffective provider patient communication; inadequate screening, and insufficient post treatment and long term follow up can occur in varying combination over time, resulting in increased lung cancer related costs. In the USA, one thing has become clear : social injustice leading to unfair inequities are most part of these problems.

The NATIONAL CANCER INSTITUTE, part of the National Institute of Health and the Department of Health and Human Services, is the Nation´s principal agency for cancer research and coordinates the National Cancer Program.

As a federal agency, NATIONAL CANCER INSTITUTE receives its funds from Congress. The NCI´s busget has been approximately $ 4.9 billion per year.

Other federal agencies, state and local governments, voluntary organizations, private institutions, and industry spend substantial amounts of money trying hard to help cancer patients, their treatments, drugs and others.
